Our Summer Internship Program

This Opportunity
The Business Technology (BT) Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking a summer intern to join us to help lead various technology projects, as well as to improve overall PMO processes. In this role you will have the opportunity to broaden your background and apply your skills to solve real-world problems. If you have a strong analytical background and a keen interest in learning about technology, project management, and the pharmaceutical industry, this is the internship for you.

What You’ll Do
• Serve as a key interface between PMO and BT teams (e.g. Solution Delivery Teams, Digital & Business Technology Innovation, Infrastructure, Security), vendor teams, and business teams. Work with project leaders to plan projects, maintain critical information in project charters, track deliverables, and coordinate project related documentation
• Work with business stakeholders and/or vendor to plan and track various project activities (including coordinate key project sessions, stakeholder reviews, metrics capture and analysis, etc.)
• Assist with project communications, including communications to stakeholders, BT colleagues, vendors, and business stakeholders
• Update and analyze issues and risks logs: ensure proper categorization and prioritization, work with project stakeholders to design risk mitigation strategies and action plans for issues, and escalate issues as appropriate
• Help produce key deliverables such as status reports and executive steering committee presentations while ensuring deliverables are captured in the appropriate repository, and when applicable, are signed-off
• Assist with management of project schedule, including actuals vs. forecast vs. baseline
• Help manage project financials, evaluate spend vs. plan, ensuring key financial information is kept up to date in the overall BT project portfolio tool
• Harvest best practices from PMO projects and consolidate to improve PMO tools, templates, and methodology

Your Skills & Expertise
• Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in a technology major such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Information Science, or similar
• Past internship experience or coursework in Project Management, planning, technology development
• Knowledge of technology systems and applications
• Knowledge or experience with SharePoint (or similar) project workspaces / document repositories
• Knowledge of project management methodology and mechanics (SDLC, Waterfall, Agile) is a plus
• Ability to quickly learn, internalize, and utilize new information and processes
• Problem solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
